Gas / Fuel (ScotSail does not charge for boat fuel, domestic gas or engine hours usage).   Tuition/Certification. Paper RYA Certifications Provided at no additional charge, whilst stocks last. New Photo-Id Licence-Style Certifcates and Central RYA Database Registration available at £5 for Day/Coastal Skipper Practical Courses.   Safety Equipment (Everything you require is provided i.e. Lifejackets, Safety Harnesses etc).   Those who don't have waterproof clothing can hire these from the huge selection in stock, at our dedicated LargsCentre facility. (See Price List above for details).   The subsidised rates for Waterproof Clothing Hire are for ScotSail Customers Only. Read our FAQs for even more details on what's included and what's not.

Note 2:

We accept: Most major Credit and Debit Cards (except AmEx), Cash, Cheques, Bank Transfer, RYA Gift Vouchers and ScotSail Gift Vouchers.   Payments made by Credit Cards will incur a 2.5% Bank Charge - other forms of payment incur no additional charge. No bookings shall be valid or confirmed until payment has been received. Such charges are non-refundable.
Note 3:

ScotSail operates a Refundable Booking Deposit (RBD) System.   This allows you to pay a fully refundable fee of £50GBP Per Place, to reserve that place for up to 5 days, whilst you make appropriate arrangements, such as booking work leave or discussing the booking with a friend or family-member.   If after 5 days you do not wish to proceed with the booking, you will be given a full no-questions-asked refund. RBD Payments made by Credit Card will be subject to a 2.5% Bank Charge, out with ScotSails control. Such charges are non-refundable.
Note 4:

RYA Shorebased Navigation and Safety Courses, such as (Day Skipper, Coastal / Yachtmaster, Basic Navigation and Safety etc), run throughout the year at our dedicated ScotSail facilities at LargsCentre and PrestonCentre.   All Course Materials and Learning Equipment is included.

Note 5:
Candidates undertaking the Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore MCA exam will need to pay the examiners fee set by the RYA. This fee will be advised to the client prior to booking.
Note 6:

RYA Basic Navigation & Safety Courses are normally £160   They shall be discounted to £140 if booked in conjunction with any 5 Day RYA Sailing Course / Yachting Experience.
Note 7: All 5 Day RYA Sailing Course / Learn-to-Sail Holidays or Yachting Experience bookings of 3 or more persons (at the time of booking) will be be eligible for a 5% Discount. (Excludes Retail Voucher Products). Cannot be used in conjuction with any other offer or discount.
Note 8:
Customers wishing to convert their Start Yachting Course / Experience to a full RYA Competent Crew Certificate can do so by paying a top-up fee, and attending two further weekends.
Note 9:

RYA Cruising Instructor Certification Weekend. Candidates must have all necessary updates and qualifications to attend.  Run by ScotSail Principal. Contact for dates.
Note 10:

Exam fee payable direct to the RYA Examiner.  Schedules should be made payable to 'RYA'.   This fee is not set by ScotSail and it should not be paid to ScotSail.
 
Note 11:

RYA / MCA VHF Radio Authority-to-Operate License: In accordance with MCA and RYA Guidelines, all participants must be adequately prepared prior to attending a VHF radio course.   This allows the course to be delivered over just one day, without the added expense and effort of a multi-day course.  All participants should be familiar with the phonetic alphabet and basic distress-call procedures.   To that end, we strongly recommend that all course participants have read and assimilated the RYA VHF Radio (nc GMDSS) G22 Handbook.

This book will be available upon request to all our VHF Radio Course Customers at the discounted rate of just £5.00 extra including postage. The book will be sent out via Royal Mail along with your joining pack / brochure / invoice / confirmation letter etc.   Alternatively, you can purchase this from the RYA Online Shop or any other third-party retailer.
